LEC 2024 Annual Report: A Year of Resilience, Growth, and Collective Impact
Welcome to the 2024 Annual Report of LEC Community Organization — a reflection of our journey, impact, and unwavering commitment to survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Founded on a survivor-centric approach, LEC was born out of the belief that every survivor holds an inner strength that cannot be taken away — a strength that, when nurtured, transforms vulnerability into resilience.
Over the past 15 years, we have witnessed the power of peer-to-peer support, long-term coaching, and sustainable livelihood initiatives in restoring dignity and building economic independence among survivors. These pillars not only foster healing but also serve as critical tools in breaking cycles of violence.
Our impact has been made possible through strong and strategic partnerships — from GBV and child protection networks, government agencies, civil society, and the private sector to the local communities we serve. Together, we’ve extended holistic and impactful services, especially in high-need areas such as Mathare’s informal settlements and rural Busia, regions where GBV remains prevalent.
We extend heartfelt gratitude to all our partners and supporters who have walked with us in this mission. Your dedication enables us to respond to deep-rooted vulnerabilities with coordinated, community-driven solutions.
As we look ahead to 2025, we remain committed to building resilient, empowered communities and turning new challenges into new opportunities for transformation and growth.
With deep appreciation,
Leah Nyalobo
Founder & Executive Director
